A beautiful warm sunny winter's day here. It was a work day for Sam. I did our washing, cleaned the house and watered our house plants and veggies. The boys and I went for a long hike before lunch exploring Baldy Top and the surrounding landscape. In the late afternoon Sam joined us as we climbed another red rocky formation called Table Top to catch the sunset. There is something so very beautiful about this landscape. #buslife #nomads #outback #offgrid #australia #abcmyphoto #thisisqueensland #seeaustralia #rvlife

We've been renting this beautiful property near #Charleville and living in our bus at the front gate of the homestead (which is hidden in this picture by the lush gardens that surround the house). Believe it or not, the rent was cheaper than most caravan parks that we've stayed at on the east coast. We've had to maintain the homestead gardens and take care of the property, but it has been a very satisfying experience. We've grown vegetables, the boys have turned the empty house into Lego World and we've enjoyed daily sunset walks along the nearby river. Now that travel restrictions are beginning to ease, we've decided to hit the road again in two weeks' time. It will be strange to leave our quiet little oasis in the outback and to re-enter the world again. We had the choice of quiet reading or audio books over lunch. And some Lego construction and home economics (folding washing and putting it away) in the afternoon. The day finished with a bike ride to the river again in the late afternoon, with Sam joining us when she finished her long working day just before sunset. Not a bad way to start the week! This is beautiful Moreton Island. I took the boys on a day cruise to Tangalooma Wrecks this week.

This is beautiful Moreton Island. I took the boys on a day cruise to @tangaloomaislandresort earlier this week. We snorkeled around The Wrecks and spent many hours swimming in the crystal clear waters that surround the island. I even managed to get a few quick pictures with my drone. It’s been eighteen months since we visited our favourite island and former home (we lived at the Cape Moreton lighthouse for five years) and it was wonderful to be back, if only for the day! ~ Keiran.

I launched my @kayaks2fish kayak from Brighton Park and spent a couple of hours exploring this fascinating area. The weekend wrap. Lots of family time spent outdoors, enjoying some gorgeous winter weather (Queensland style). We enjoyed a family paddle through the Boondall Wetlands in our new @kayaks2fish kayak (yep, we managed to all squeeze into the one kayak!). We spent a lazy afternoon down along the Sandgate foreshore, whilst the kids played on the beach and ran around on the tidal flats at sunset. We enjoyed a sunny Sunday morning by the water and photographing my favourite tree at Brighton. Tonight's magnificent sunset show over Lake Samsonvale near #Brisbane. The boys and I were treated to a most beautiful scene! I took a day off today from working on the bus, instead enjoying a sunrise kayak in the Boondall Wetlands, a picnic lunch and splash about at Cedar Creek with the boys, and then this incredible sunset at the lake tonight! A big thank you to everyone for their supportive comments and encouragement on my last post.
